Your customers are using social media. That’s a fact of life. If your company isn’t using social media to engage with customers, you’re losing to your competitors. Social media marketing is a way to put your business and your brand in front of customers where they are spending their time.

Social Media Strategy
By now, most companies know they should be using social media to promote their business. Most businesses have a Facebook page and have set up a Google My Business account (if you haven’t, stop reading and do it. Now. Seriously. I’ll wait.). But having a social media page and using it to generate leads are two completely different things.
Inbound marketing is about luring customers to your site by providing current, relevant content. But if you don’t share that content, no one will know about it. That’s why you need to be using social media to increase the number of visitors to your sit and generate more leads.
But, if all of your posts are blasts about your own content, people will ignore you. The same can be said if you only are retweeting or repostings the posts of others. You need a specific strategy with goals and expectations of all of your social media engagements. Theoretically, a 50/25/25 plan is a good starting point, but that doesn’t mean it works for every business and industry.
